Vetrimaaran and Suriya have announced Vaadivaasal long time back during COVID pandemic. The movie did not take off and Suriya has been busy with his numerous other projects. It is believed that he is not interested to work with the director, knowing his working style, and fearing delays. 

After major setbacks like Kanguva, Retro, he is said to be looking to finish films quicker and not sit on one film for years. Hence, Vetrimaaran and his combination is not happening stated many insiders. But recently, the director and actor sat and discussed script, say reports. 

According to the buzz, Suriya accepted to give dates but asked director to bring full bound script and plan it to the last detail to finish in said time period. He is not ready to change entirely for the film as he wants to put two films on sets at a time. 

He is not involving into his next film, Karuppu, release tensions and he finished Vishwanth and Sons shoot, as well. Currently, he is busy with Jithu Madhavan's cop film. Vetrimaaran has to complete Arasan with Silambarasan, whose shooting has been halted due to logistical difficulties. Soon, the movie will start shoot and finish at brisk pace, say reports.
